জাপানে বসবাসকারী এক আত্মীয়র জন্য ক্ষুদদাকে বিভিন্ন সময় সস্ত্রীক জাপান যেতে হয়েছে। সেখানে গিয়ে তার প্রতিবারই বিচিত্র সব অভিজ্ঞতা হয়েছে। কখনো ভাষা বিভ্রাট,কখনো খাদ্য, কখনো বা পোশাকআশাক। এমনকি রাস্তাও হারিয়েছে সে একাধিকবার। শপিং মলে গিয়েও বিস্তর গোলমাল। মুদিখানায় গিয়ে জিনিস আনার ঝক্কি সামলাতে হয়েছে। আর ক্ষুদদার সঙ্গে রয়েছে তার স্ত্রী। তিনিও প্রাণপনে চেষ্টা করে যাচ্ছেন পরিস্থিতি সামলাতে।

এইসব অভিজ্ঞতা নিয়েই লেখক অনুপম গুপ্ত লিখে ফেলেছেন গল্পের ভঙ্গিতে রম্য রচনা। যা পাঠককে হাসাবে,ভাবাবে ও পরিচয় ঘটাবে সম্পূর্ণ পৃথক এক সংস্কৃতির সঙ্গে।
